Getting Started Guide

Set up powder alerts in under 2 minutes and never miss a powder day again.

Step 1: Sign Up

Sign up with your email or Google on our signup page. No password needed - quick and secure.

Tips

  • Email or Google sign-in takes seconds
  • Already have a phone-based account? Use "Already have an account?" to migrate

Step 2: Choose Your Resorts

Select the ski resorts you want to track. You can enable as many as you like - from local favorites to destination resorts across Western Canada.

Tips

  • Start with 2-3 resorts you ski most often
  • You can add or remove resorts anytime

Step 3: Set Your Thresholds

Configure how much snow needs to fall before you get alerted. Set separate thresholds for 12-hour (overnight) and 24-hour (full day) snowfall.

Tips

  • 4cm is a good starting point for most skiers
  • Set higher thresholds (10-15cm) for epic pow-only alerts
  • Different resorts can have different thresholds

Step 4: Enable Notifications

Allow push notifications when prompted. For the best experience on iPhone, add FreshDump to your home screen first (Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen).

Tips

  • Push notifications are free and instant
  • SMS is available as a backup option
  • Enable notifications for multiple devices

Step 5: Wake Up to Powder Alerts

That's it! When your resorts get fresh snow overnight, you'll receive an alert at 6am (local time). Check the Resort Leaderboard for current conditions, grab your gear, and go shred!

Tips

  • Alerts include exact snowfall amounts
  • Check the Resort Leaderboard for 12hr, 24hr, and base depth
  • Plan your route based on where it dumped most

Pro Tips

Use the Resort Leaderboard

Sort resorts by 12hr, 24hr, or Base depth to see where the snow is best. Tap any resort to open their official conditions page.

Set Different Thresholds Per Resort

Your local hill might be worth skiing with 5cm, but a 3-hour drive resort might need 15cm to justify the trip.

Check Snow Base Too

Early season? Sort the Resort Leaderboard by Base to see which resorts have the deepest snowpack.

Enable Multiple Devices

Log in on your phone, tablet, and computer to get alerts everywhere. All devices sync automatically.
